“ This is, hands down, my family's fave place to go when we eat out, even though we now live in the Northeast Houston area and it's a 45 minute drive!... Our teen, Chloe Marie the pescatarian, relishes in 3 plates of nourishing shrimp tempura during each visit! My husband and I have been coming here since we began dating in 2007 for its super-fresh, highest quality, absolutely grand presentation of every kind of sushi roll imaginable (so Texan, he loves the jalapeno rolls), they create the best California rolls in the Greater Houston area for the price, and Kirin II gratifies my insatiable desire for salmon sushi (if I wear stretchy pants)! I lived in the area when I was a single English teacher many moons ago, and I have fond memories of reading a book here on weekdays off because I could take my time and just zen out!... Highly recommend! Always a delight now for 20 years and counting! Check out their selection of (my daughter's favorite) imported fruit-flavored sparkling sodas! Gracious staff: I am a 1/4 Japanese, and I appreciate their pleasant, subdued hospitality, it magically blends into the relaxing, aquarium-filled atmosphere where the 3 of us now enjoy bonding over my grandmother's heritage like edamame peas in a pod! We will return until sushi becomes obsolete, so forever! ”
“ The servers are very nice here and the salmon nigiri is really good. Actually, everything there is delicious. I give it 5 stars! ”
“ Good food and fresh seafood on the buffet. Crab legs and oysters! Nice, clean, quiet place. ”
“ Never thought I would dig sushi and buffet together but this place makes it work. Not to far from the office, I usually come here with coworkers when I'm called into the office or if friends are nearby and want to get their meal on in a timely fashion. Typical asian eats buffet with your standard asian/american cuisines such as the sesame chicken, beef/broccoli, fried rice, and veggie lo mein; all in the hot foods bar area. It's aight, nothing I would jump up and down for. There's also some seafood items here including peel shrimp, seafood puffs, and I think some scallop dishes. Desserts included brownies, jello, and some cookies. Heard they have green tea ice cream but I didnt' see any. Maybe I didn't look in the right spot. But the main reason this buffet is a notch above others is the sushi which is why I mainly come here. There's several sushi items available including the spicy tuna roll and common sushimi items along with sushi rolls. Drizzle that honey wasabi mayo and ponzu sauces with some of that seaweed salad and you'll be reminded why places like this appeal to you when you're feeling glutenous for sushi. I haven't tried dinner here; heard it's way more pricey due to the items they'll serve which includes crab legs, crawfish, and probably more desserts. Nonetheless, the lunch w/ drink runs about $18-20/person which is affordable in this day and age. If you've got an appetite, and you like sushi, definitely roll up here. ”
“ This is a very quaint restaurant with a quiet atmosphere without the hustle and bustle of folks all over the open all you can eat bar. The food is sensibly placed in small amounts but refreshed every few minutes which I appreciate. We enjoyed the king crab legs that are self served from the buffet but you can request the wait staff to warm them up and bring hot butter. They did a good job keeping the crab legs replenished. My main objective was to eat all the boiled shrimp and crab legs I could so I really can't say anything much about the other foods. I did taste the fried rice but I found the rice to be either not fresh or not cooked long enough. The grilled fish was nice as well. The sushi was plentiful and beautifully displayed but didn't go for any of it. We are definitely going back again very soon. We enjoyed our dinner there. Great staff! ”
“ Great food, Great service keeps me returning., Need I write more to post the review?? ”
“ My friend wanted to meet up last minute for dinner, and he suggested this place. I had driven past it many many times, and I had intended to visit for years. Just my luck! We visited on a Monday, and the place was fairly dead, but that was expected given that it was a Monday. Despite that, the full spread was out and on display. There's a section dedicated to hot items, desserts, and sushi! I admittedly stuck to nigiri, sashimi, a few rolls, special request spider and spicy tuna hand rolls (ask for less rice). The selection was pretty good. And of course one must try the most popular item, the snow crab legs! Since it wasn't very crowded, these never ran low or out. We weren't provided shell crackers, though I didn't ask. They're not a necessity though. The meat came out easily. The surprise item I enjoyed was the duck! It was nicely cooked and tasty. Definitely request a scoop of green tea ice cream from your server! What's offered on the dessert buffet line is generic factory made stuff, though the brownies tasted homemade. If you enjoy sushi and snow crabs, this place will be a win. If you don't consume those or other seafood, you might feel like the $30 buffet price isn't worth it. Hope to return when I want to be a glutton! ”
